Body RICHMOND – Golf coach Murray Dennis watched his Spartans sweep Tuesday’s Missouri River Valley Conference East Division varsity triangular with Lafayette County of Higginsville and Lexington while playing once again in subpar weather.

Body RICHMOND – Sophomore Brook Weber might have wondered if she would get blown away when she ran the anchor leg for the girls 800- and 400-meter relays Tuesday at the Hoot Middleton Invitational. Not by the competition, though.

Body RICHMOND – Fantasy golf helped the Spartans in real-world boys golf against Lawson at Shirkey Golf Course, Richmond coach Murray Dennis said.

Body RICHMOND – The Spartans had little reason for concern about their pitching after getting a combined no-hitter from seniors Lucas Rodenberg and Spencer Wolf in their 5-0 win April 1 over Lafayette County of Higginsville.

Body HIGGINSVILLE – Sophomore Kaylee Pugh and senior Abrey Oldham had their handoffs down pat in the girls 400- and 800-meter relays for Richmond at Tuesday’s Rob Hoefer Husker Invitational. Pugh ran the leadoff leg of both races.

Body LEXINGTON – Richmond nearly swept Tuesday’s Tri-County Meet at Gil Rector Stadium. Led by wins in six events, the varsity girls cruised to the team title with 182.5 points – 68 points ahead of runner-up Wellington-Napoleon.

Body RICHMOND – Senior Lexi Bokarae has played her share of regular basketball. But until March 21, she had never played donkey basketball.

Body ODESSA – Richmond senior pitcher Lucas Rodenberg flirted with a no-hitter. And the Spartans flirted with winning their final baseball game of the Odessa Tournament.

Body ORRICK – Senior Blake Buchanan had a choice: pursue football or track and field in college after graduating this spring from Orrick High School. Buchanan chose football.
