Area residents should expect impact funds

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Service urges people to visit IRS.gov for current information on the second round of Economic Impact Payments. The Treasury Department began issuing a second round of Economic Impact Payments, often referred to as stimulus payments, in late December.

MoDOT considers county sign on bridges

HENRIETTA – There is no county line signage on the Ike Skelton Bridge between Lafayette and Ray counties, but that might change. “It is standard to have county line signs either on the bridge or on either side of the bridge,” MoDOT’s Kansas City metro traffi operations engineer, Ericka Ross, said.

Virus claims doctor’s life

RICHMOND – COVID-19 claimed the life of a doctor at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Dr. John E. Scowley, 72, Richmond, Dec. 30. “He was around a lot of patients,” Presiding Commissioner Bob King said.
