Richmond prioritizes infrastructure, preps for festival

Richmond city leaders are prioritizing infrastructure improvements as they move ahead with key projects designed to strengthen utility systems and maintain essential services. Public Works Director Dale Shipp outlined the next steps in upgrading the city’s lift station, which include the purchase of pumps, controls, piping, valves and electrical components.

The Richmond R-XVI Board of Education unanimously approved salary increases for all employee categories for the 2025-26 school year. Certified staff will receive a base pay increase from $39,400 to $40,200. Classified employees – including aides, custodians, maintenance workers and secretaries – will see an increase of $0.25 per hour in their respective pay structures.
