There has been a lot of talk about selfcare lately; its benefits, importance, and even some ideas on what you could do to practice it. However, many people still cannot make time for it.

Richmond High School teacher Marylee Dewey of Carrollton will be teaching biology and dual credit biology. She is excited about being able to teach the dual credit biology class and having the opportunity to take students to the Missouri Western State University in St Joe for labs at least twice a year.

Extreme weather which produced a tornado swept through Hardin last Friday, according to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers. “We were told an eyewitness saw one cross Hwy 10,” said Childers.

With the new school year coming up, many local schools are introducing their new staff – including the Hardin-Central (H-C) School District. Having served as H-C Superintendent since July 1, Oak Grove native Austin Purvis has been in the district for eight years as the elementary school principal.

Now law, House Bill (HB) 402 modifies the definition of hospitals, allowing rural emergency hospitals which comply with Medicare conditions to be licensed as hospitals, according to Missouri District 7 Representative Peggy Mc-Gaugh. “The Missouri General Assembly this year passed several provisions aimed at bettering access to healthcare in Missouri. HB 402 will reduce barriers and allow advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to practice fully with their education and training.” said McGaugh. “Both of these provisions in HB 402 will go a long way in ensuring that our citizens have access to good, quality healthcare – especially in our rural areas.”
