Richmond’s City Council voted June 14 at City Hall to approve a resolution for a trash rate increase, but not before letting the Republic Service representative hear the council’s multiple grievances with the company.
RICHMOND – To some, Jennifer and Robert Florez’s family might seem like Ray County’s version of “Cheaper by the Dozen,” the book-turned-film-turned-movie remake-turned-2022 reboot. The Florezes, who moved this past year from Liberty to Richmond with Robert’s parents, have eight children on their farm.

The 2022-23 Richmond FFA Chapter Officer team came together on May 23 and 24 at Richmond High School for an officer retreat. During the retreat, the officer team participated in team-building games, goal-setting workshops and activities to get to know one another.
RICHMOND — Jim Hardison officially joined Richmond’s City Council Tuesday evening after the election results of the June 7 runoff election had been approved. Hardison will represent Ward I for a term of one year, replacing Tom Williams, who was appointed to the seat when it became vacant.
RICHMOND – The “greenspace” on the corner of Richmond’s downtown enters another phase of development. Phase 3 of this park project includes the addition of three concrete pads with pergolas, mulch, plants and rock.
RICHMOND – Peer support training for first responders is coming to Richmond on July 14. The class is open to everyone who wishes to serve and minister to first responders.
