Body RICHMOND – For their first varsity basketball game after an unexpected week off, a 45-41 loss Monday to Pembroke Hill, the Spartans served up a nail-biting finish.

Body RICHMOND – Senior guard Spencer Wolf and his fellow Spartans felt anxious to play basketball again when they took the court Tuesday to open the Richmond Winter Classic. And they channeled their eagerness into pummeling Oak Grove 82-31.

Body KINGSVILLE – A 31-game losing streak is over for Orrick in varsity girls basketball. The Bearcats broke the streak Tuesday night by edging Kingsville 33-29 on the road in non-conference play.

Body HARDIN – Being a .500 team remains within reach for Hardin-Central in varsity girls basketball.

Body RICHMOND – The Spartans “need to wrestle better” than they did during their 42-36 Jan. 13 home win over St. Pius X of Kansas City as they head into the home stretch of the varsity boys season, Richmond coach Cody Hogan said.
