One of the 2025 Richmond Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame inductees was ahead of his time, according to former Richmond coach Scott Summers. In introducing Darren Gray during the June 7 ceremony in the Richmond High School commons area, Summers described Gray as the school’s first bona fide three-point shooter. Gray, a 1993 graduate, began playing high school boys basketball less than five years after the introduction of the three-point shot in Missouri prep basketball, Summers explained.

They did so by holding joint summer practices.

Spurred by some divine guidance, two 8-man youth football teams are forming in Orrick. Led by Drew Schoeneck, plans are underway to form one team for third- and fourth-graders, and another for fifth- and sixth-graders.
