H-C runners look to build endurance

Improvement is a top priority for Hardin- Central’s cross country runners. Here’s a look at the Bulldogs as they prepare to negotiate miles of hills and grassy terrain this fall. Head coach and bio: Jenni Scott is in her fourth year of leading Hardin-Central and as a cross country coach overall. Total returning letter winners: None. Names and year in school of returning varsity runners: Valerie Gabel, junior. Scott shared her thoughts on the team. What athletes will help lead the program? What qualities do they possess that will make them effective leaders? “I have 11 athletes total, with eight of them being junior high. I have two very competitive athletes, Alaina Charlons and Owen Fortin, who will definitely set an example of success in running.
