Ray County commissioners are weighing a proposal to install a new security camera system at the courthouse and other county buildings following a series of recent threats and security incidents. Ray County Sheriff’s Office Deputy David Francken told commissioners he was asked to develop a courthouse security plan after multiple incidents required law enforcement to secure the building.

Kenneth Kenyon with Emergency Management told commissioners the recent installation of a generator at the Eagleton Center now makes the building eligible for certification as an official Red Cross shelter.
