As the Richmond News reported, the 2026 class of the Richmond Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame included members of the 2003 varsity football team and standout prep athletes of the 1980s. It also included a pioneer in the history of Richmond track and field, a state wrestling champion, and a longtime coach and teacher.
Many Richmond sports fans are used to seeing Adilyn Swope on basketball courts. In a few months, they might have opportunities to see her on tennis courts, too.

After a record-breaking 2026 track and field season at Richmond, Malikiah Tharp is looking to 2027 – to a point. With fall sports practices set to kick off in August, Tharp said June 1 that he’s spending his summer break focusing on his fall sport – football.

Latimer Cavanah and Brody Farnan are back on the links roughly two weeks after Richmond’s varsity boys golf season ended. For Farnan, playing a round of golf with friends is practically a daily occurrence, he said Monday after doing summer weight training and conditioning exercises on the Richmond High School campus.
Richmond’s varsity girls basketball squad will have plenty of new faces when the 2026-27 season tips off in November, according to coach Kaylee Vantrump. As of Monday, only four members of the 2025-26 squad had committed to return, Vantrump said after a team camp session in the high school gym.
