LEXINGTON – John Weber punctuated Richmond’s 58-22 Bell Game win over Lexington in varsity 11-man football by doing something he had never done. With Richmond leading 56-22 following Cyrus Jackson’s 13-yard TD run with 45.1 seconds left in the final quarter of the Week 9 road clash, the Spartans attempted a two-point conversion run.

Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson and his Aggies were in position to remain undefeated late in the fourth quarter of their 58-42 Week 8 loss to Braymer/Breckenridge.

Richmond coach Nick Persell and his Spartans aren’t playing any run-of-themill varsity 11-man football game Friday, when they’ll face Lexington on the road in Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC)-East Division play.

Lyle Best didn’t have to wait long to experience the thrill of qualifying for state in girls golf. Best, a Richmond first-year high schooler, is set to compete in the Class 2 state tournament Oct.

For senior John Weber, something sweetened his honor of being named Richmond’s 2024 homecoming king: Richmond’s 56-7 Week 6 thumping of visiting Carrollton in varsity 11-man football. Weber helped sweeten the honor as one of Richmond’s offensive and defensive linemen.
