HIGGINSVILLE – Richmond has motivation for staying focused for Friday’s homecoming meeting with Carrollton in varsity 11-man football, teammates Nolan Quick and Jacob Johnson agree. That motivation is the final score of the Spartans’ Week 5 meeting with Lafayette County of Higginsville: Huskers, 70, Spartans 28.

Sloppy weather couldn’t stop Richmond girls golf coach Courtney Sisson and her varsity Spartans from conquering the field at a tournament hosted by Odessa Monday at Shirkey Golf Course. Led by an individual win from first-year high schooler Lyla Best, Richmond won the competition with a 415 – 72 strokes lower than runner-up Plattsburg.

Kalel Bowman received at least two presents the night of Sept. 20.

Richmond varsity football coach Nick Persell and his Spartans are looking forward to Friday night. The reason: another showdown with Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division rival Lafayette County of Higginsville.
