Richmond varsity girls basketball coach Kaylee Vantrump had a new pick for best performance of the season after the Spartans’ 54-30 Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC)-East Division win Feb. 7 over visiting Holden.

For Brent Behler, working with seniors Isaac Douglas, Gabe Johnson, Tristan McCoy and Kris Outersky in his first season as Richmond head varsity basketball coach has been a joy. “I’ve enjoyed all the kids I’ve coached and these kids work hard,” Behler said.

William Jewell College seems to be developing a pipeline to Richmond High School when it comes to recruiting football players. Recently, Travis Cardwell signed his letter of intent to play for William Jewell, an NCAA Division II private school based in Liberty.
