Missouri State Representative Terry Thompson is encouraging local churches and community groups to prepare to assist residents after the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) announced it cannot issue November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Christian Road Bridge is now open to traffic, marking a long-anticipated milestone for Ray County. Richmond High School seniors will soon have the chance to earn credit while gaining real-world experience through a new scheduling option that blends classroom learning with job or internship hours. Richmond High School leaders introduced the Spartan FLEX Program during the October 16 Board of Education meeting, outlining a scheduling option for seniors beginning in the second semester of the 2025–26 school year.
