A longtime law enforcement officer has been promoted to the rank of major in the Ray County Sheriff’s Office. The move places Tom Noon, a former detective, in a senior leadership role where he will oversee patrol operations, assist with investigations and guide the county’s information security.

At the center of the room, Special Needs Services Executive Director Suzan Breen guided participants through the process of turning fresh harvests into meals and preserves meant to nourish more than just the body.

School board adopts new policies, reviews building progress

Richmond school leaders are preparing for sweeping policy changes driven by new state laws, updating rules on student cell phone use, homeschooling, virtual courses and extracurricular eligibility while also tending to district facilities and renewing agreements with community partners. The Richmond R-XVI Board of Education reviewed the updates during its recent September meeting.
