The agricultural journalism industry is rapidly growing and journalists are making their way to high schools to encourage students to follow in this career. Cami Koons, the agriculture journalist for Flatland KC, joined the Richmond High School agriculture communications class. Cami informed the students about what struck her interest in journalism, but also how she managed to become involved in the agriculture aspect when she had no relation to agriculture beforehand.

Tyne Morgan Hulsey is a national agricultural news broadcaster for the Farm Journal and host of the “U.S. Farm Report.” She came to Richmond High School to talk to agriculture communication students about her day-today life as a broadcaster and how she became the first ever female host of the “U.S. Farm Report.”

Gamma Theta Chapters Beta Sigma Phi is a sorority dedicated to helping Ray County residents. Chapter member Beverly Phipps, who has been part of the sorority since 1971, said the group loves service projects.
