HARDIN – Bridge work on Route J over Crooked River is underway, forcing the road to close for the next three months. The plan is to replace the bridge deck and improve the approaches, Missouri Department of Transportation spokesman Markl T.

LIBERTY – COVID-19 cases in Clay and Ray counties, and across the state and nation, continue to rise, though there are moderation signs nationally and in the Northland. Nationally, new cases rose by 2.8% from last week to this week and the trend line over the past few weeks is down, though nearly 3,718 additional deaths in the past six days remains a fact health experts continue to try to reduce.

RICHMOND – The Spartans’ defense got stingy to start this week of varsity softball. After yielding 38 runs last week in their first two games, both losses, the Spartans posted back-to-back shutouts Monday and Tuesday.
