Body Orrick varsity track coach Kirk Thacker and his boys team are pursuing another district title this season. But before they attempt to win their second straight Class 1 District 7 crown, they have another goal they want to accomplish: win the I-70 Conference title.

Body Maddie Slough opted to take a different approach to opening Orrick’s golf season than she might have if this weren’t her first season leading the Bearcats. On March 20, Slough and three of her Bearcats participated in the Richmond Coaching Tournament at Shirkey Golf Course.

Body A new era is underway with Richmond in varsity baseball. The Spartans kicked off their season last weekend in tournament play at Odessa, going 1-2.

Body Richmond football coach Nick Persell called Feb. 29, 2024, a “great day to be a Cardinal.” The reason the coach at a high school whose mascot is the Spartans said that is because he’s also a graduate of William Jewell College, whose mascot is the Cardinals.

Body Kail Farnan’s entry into college football is similar to his entry into high school football. Farnan, who’ll graduate in May from Richmond High School, formally signed his letter of intent Feb.
