Sister trio share rabbit expertise

Farmers appreciation dinner celebrated

Body Area residents gathered for the annual Farmers Appreciation Dinner, held as part of the Ray County Fair, last week. Fair sponsors, local businesses and farmers made their way to the fairgrounds to get in line for their meals, provided by Branded Steakhouse.

Law restricts drivers from phone use

Body A new bill passed earlier this month forbids Missouri drivers of any age from holding or using any “electronic communication devices.” Called “Siddens Bening Hands Free Law” Missouri Revised Statute 304.820 described devices as anything from a phone to laptops.

Commissioners discuss bill 190

Body Older Ray County residents are wondering if Ray County Commissioners will enact the senate bill which freezes property tax rates for residents ages 65 and older. Senate Bill 190 was signed by Missouri Governor Mike Parson earlier this month.
