THE MISSOURI Farm and Home BlueBird Program donates $1,000 to the Richmond backpack program.

LIBERTY – Serving Ray, Clay and Platte counties, the Northland Coalition – with the support of Tri-County Mental Health Services – has partnered with the DEA, other law enforcement agencies and communities across the country to encourage the responsible disposal of prescription drugs.

COLUMBIA – A Gallup poll found teachers are tied with nurses for the most stressful occupation in America. Stress can trickle down on their students, leading to disruptive behavior that results in student suspensions.

RICHMOND – Ray County Sheriff Garry Bush said his road patrol deputies could not get gasoline for their patrol cars because County Clerk Glenda Powell had failed to pay the bill. “We had four cars that were out of gas,” Bush said.

RICHMOND – While Richmond High School is closed because of several COVID-19 cases until Nov. 3, school leadership has issued expectations for continued learning from teachers, parents and students.

RICHMOND – A mural depicting a Ray County farm from nearly 200 years ago is found on the building wall across from the Farris Theatre at West Main and South Camden streets. Ray County Community Arts Association President Melinda White said the association commissioned the work.

RICHMOND – After several people tested positive for COVID-19 and scores more were possibly in contact with those people, Richmond School District leaders ordered a three-week shutdown at Richmond High School.

RICHMOND – Phasing out Ray Count Memorial Hospital’s home health program has gone “remarkably well,” Administrato Earl Sheehy said. As this newspaper reported earlier, the hospital’s Board of Trustees voted in July to phase out the program.
