Richmond High School (RHS) National Honor Society (NHS) sponsor Kim Wilton said $6,887.19 was raised for the Richmond R-XVI district to help cover an $8,600 deficit from lunch balances. RHS Principal Brandon Quick said the funds were originally for food, items for students or helping students pay their lunch debt.

Celebrating actions of giving back, the Special Needs Services (SNS) of Ray County program, Community at Play (CAP) initaited cookie decorating with 250 cookies. CAP is a program where anyone and everyone can come together. Uniting others by play and fun activities, SNS CAP events are public and remind people the community is there for them, said SNS Executive Director Suzan Breen.

Richmond resident Charles Mc-Corkendale, 92, donated all of his Kansas City Butler Manufacturing 1920s memorabilia to two historical places last week. His materials will be shown in Science City at Union Station of Kansas City and at the Kelch Aviation Museum of Brodhead, Wis.
