The Richmond City Council unanimously approved Ordinance Bill No. 2335, combining Chapters 240 and 250 of the Municipal Code and creating a single unified Parks and Recreation Department under a single director. “We discussed combining parks and recreation departments under one director. We have an ordinance making both under one person, the old ordinance had them separated,” said Councilwoman Barb Hardwick. Formerly just the city recreation director, Haley Williams accepted the combined position. Williams is now the city parks and recreation director.. “The parks board is in agreement with this ordinance.
