RICHMOND – On Sept. 18, Class 2 Richmond clashed with a Class 3 opponent, Southern Boone County, and in a bloody-nose donnybrook, came back to tie the game four times before the visitors pulled off a 38-24 fourth-quarter victory.

NORBORNE – Brayden Schick did not start at quarterback for Norborne Hardin-Central when the Aggies faced Santa Fe on Sept. 18 at Norborne.

RICHMOND – Tuesday marked a first in this girls golf season for the Spartans. By shooting a combined 239, Richmond placed second in a Missouri River Valley Conference triangular with Warrensburg and Harrisonville at Shirkey Golf Course.

RICHMOND – The Spartans got an unexpected break in their varsity softball schedule Tuesday. The Spartans were slated to host Knob Noster that day at Southview Park.

ORRICK – Varsity coach Eric Fairchild got a glimpse of Orrick’s future in 8-man football during the Bearcats’ 67-34 Sept. 19 thumping of visiting Braymer/Breckenridge.

RICHMOND – In the 1971 Class 3A state championship football game at Fulton, Richmond captured the crown in a nip-and-tuck battle, 29-25. Nearly half a century later, the teams met again, this time at Richmond.

RICHMOND – A week between matches served the Spartans well, varsity volleyball coach Madison Endsley and senior Sophia Farnan agreed after Richmond’s 2-0 sweep Sept. 10 of visiting Orrick.
