NORBORNE – Regardless of what happens during the postseason, the Aggies will have a winning record. By cruising to a 50-14 win over Keytesville/Northwestern of Mendon on Oct. 23 at Norborne, the Aggies improved to 5-3 entering Friday’s meeting with Schuyler County at Hardin-Central in the District 2 8-man football playoffs. Norborne Hardin-Central last finished better than .500 in 2017, when the program went 7-4. The Aggies were 5-5 in 2018 and 4-6 in 2019. “We’re pretty happy about that after the last couple years … (of) having a .500 record and (then) a losing record last year,” NHC coach and Richmond High School graduate Kirk Thacker said. Having the guarantee of an above-.500 season is “really nice,” Mason Freece, a Hardin-Central junior, said. The Aggies ensured they would finish above .500 in part by taking control of the first quarter against Keytesville/Northwestern of Mendon.
