Free academic help available to veterans

Body WARRENSBURG – Veterans who are wanting to transition to civilian life can find help. They can prepare for a new career at any school through Veterans Upward Bound, or VUB, at the University of Central Missouri.

Hospital ends home health care as way to reduce spending

Body RICHMOND – The Ray County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees voted to cut the hospital’s home health program after a 90-day phasing out period. “I don’t want to do it,” Vice Chairman Dale Vandiver said in making the motion July 16 to cut the program.

COVID-19 NUMBERS GROW

Body THE UNITED STATES on Tuesday endured another 1,000-plus death day due to the coronavirus. The country has suffered 142,000-plus deaths, up by 5,000 versus the previous week. Clay County cases rose in the past week by 88, from 558 to 646, and deaths climbed by one, to 21.

Purdue works to speed bovine respiratory tests
