Baier keeps the grass greener

The grass might not always be greener on the other side, but it tends to be greener where Tom Baier takes care of it at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond. Hired in March as the superintendent/head greensman, Baier is from Wayne, Nebraska, and got his horticulture degree, with specialization in turf management from Iowa State University, he said.

Webinar explores proposed recreational marijuana amendment

It’s appearing Missouri voters will get to decide in November whether it’s time to legalize recreational marijuana. As the Missouri Independent and other sources have reported, Legal Missouri 2022 submitted roughly 400,000 signatures in May to the Secretary of State’s Office to get the issue placed on the ballot.

Richmond businesses host pet food, toy drive in June

In June, there was a pet food and toy drive to benefit the Humane Society of Ray County and Autumn Acres. The Richmond News, JP’s Total Image, Richmond Chiropractic Center, Equitable Advisors, the Ray County Library, Oswald Crow Agency and Macey Bail Bonds were sponsors and held the donation boxes in their respective offices.
