RICHMOND – Ray County Clerk Glenda Powell, the county’s chief election official, said she has taken steps to assure the Nov. 3 election is safe from the potential of violence and COVID-19.
JEFFERSON CITY – The U.S. District Court of Appeals in Missouri’s Western District issued a temporary restraining order Oct. 9 against forcing some absentee voters to get ballots notarized before mailing.
RICHMOND – Clay County investigator Scott Childers, 41, challenges Ray County Sheriff Garry Bush, 64, for the Ray County sheriff’s seat. Both men had the opportunity to discuss their backgrounds, and in 30 words or less, to answer issue-related questions.
COLUMBIA – The only time Gov. Mike Parson and state Auditor Nicole Galloway have appeared, or will appear, in a political forum focused on the Nov. 3 governor’s race took place Oct. 9 at the Missouri Theatre in Columbia.
RICHMOND – COVID-19 has caused a fright that has changed city plans for Halloween night. But there is no need to be scared – tick-or-treat plans have not changed dramatically, city Development Director Alicia Shaw said.
