Richmond names latest HOF class

RICHMOND – The latest Richmond High School Athletic Hall of Fame class is set. The individual inductees are 2004 graduate Allie Clubine Castilleja, former Richmond wrestling coach John Daniels, 1987 graduate Jason McKinney, 2011 graduate Kane Southwick and 2007 graduate Cassandra Hunt Williams, Alumni Association information states.

Pugh runs for H-C one more time

WESTON – Korbin Pugh will run for Hardin-Central in at least one more race. Pugh, who graduated May 8, qualified for this weekend’s Class 1 state track and field meet in Jefferson City by placing second in the 100-meter dash in 11.22 seconds at Sectional 3 competition, hosted May 14 by West Platte High School.

Bowman headed to state again

RICHMOND – For the second straight year, Aiden Bowman, a senior, will play in a state boys golf tournament. By shooting a 98 (+27) Monday in the Class 2 District 4 Tournament at Shirkey Golf Course, Bowman punched his ticket for Class 2 state competition, slated for May 16 and 17 at Columbia Country Club.

Pugh breaks 40-year-old school record at districts

CLEVELAND – A 40-year-old Hardin-Central boys track record fell May 7 at Class 1 District 6 competition. On the Midway School District campus, Korbin Pugh won his preliminary heat of the 100-meter dash in 11.4 seconds and then the finals in 11.11.

WARRENSBURG – The Spartans are Missouri River Valley Conference East Division Tournament champions again in boys golf. Led by an 85 (+15) by senior Reece Wrisinger, Richmond shot a combined 360 – 16 strokes lower than runner-up Knob Noster – to claim the tournament title Monday at Mules National Golf Club.

Two ’Cats play ‘definitely good’ rounds at Richmond

RICHMOND – Orrick golf coach Mitch Comstock saw something that was “definitely good” April 29 from Maddox Peterson and Jacob McElwee at the Richmond Invitational. Both first-year high schoolers shot better than they had the week before in tournament play at Chillicothe, Comstock said.

Vandiver wins 800; ‘another first’ for coach

HIGGINSVILLE – A flesh wound could not stop Richmond senior Evan Vandiver from winning the boys 800-meter run Tuesday at the Missouri River Valley Conference East track and field championships at Lafayette County of Higginsville.
