Nancy Jean Rye

Nancy Jean Rye, 76, of Richmond, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond. 

Nancy was born on May 1, 1945, in Kansas City the daughter of Robert and Velma (Schupp) Goodale. 

Survivors include brother, James Goodale of Rayville; niece, Gretchen (Jim) Hayward of Richmond; and two great nephews, Dakota Hayward and Caleb Goodale both of Richmond. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Tom Goodale and Chester Goodale in infancy.

Daniel Martin "Dan" Powell

Body

Daniel Martin “Dan” Powell, 64, of Excelsior Springs, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2021, at Liberty Hospital after a long hard-fought battle with complications from Covid – 19. 

Dan was born on October 30, 1956, in Rahway, NJ one of seven children born to Frederick Earl and Donna Joyce (MacArthur) Powell, III.  He was united in marriage to Glenda Sue McCrary of Excelsior Springs on February 14, 1982; she survives of the home.

Madonna Jean Svaglic, a 64-year-old Trenton, MO resident, passed Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her residence in Trenton. 

She is to be cremated with services being held at Cotton Creek Cowboy Chapel located at 40794 E 144th St. Richmond, MO 64085 on Saturday, September 11th, at 2:00 pm.

Joan (Curtis) Hamilton

Joan (Curtis) Hamilton, 94, of Richmond, Missouri, passed on September 1, 2021.   Joan was born on May 21, 1927, to Ray and Orpha Curtis of Atherton and due to her mother’s illness, was raised by numerous family members.  Joan graduated from William Chrisman High School and on January 6, 1946, married her high school sweetheart, Harry Lee Hamilton.  When Harry deployed for WWII, she was employed by Helzberg Jewelers on Independence Square and remembered walking from their Independence apartment to work in her high heels.

Deborah Knutter Visitation will be held on Friday, Sep 10 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM following Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Richmond 9502 Leathers Road, Richmond.

Melvin Ray Boeschen

Melvin Ray Boeschen, 67, of Polo, died Saturday, September 4, 2021, at North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, MO. 

Melvin was born on October 11, 1953, in Kansas City, MO the son of Marcellus and Peachie Jewell (Renner) Boeschen.  He was united in marriage to Diane Hall of Excelsior Springs on June 6, 1975; they later divorced but have remained best friends. 

Larry Joe Kincaid

Larry Joe Kincaid - age 82 of Polo, MO passed away on Tuesday morning, September 7th, 2021 at Redwood of Cameron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo American Legion Post #557 or the Caldwell County Nutrition Center in care of the funeral home.  A service celebrating Larry Joe's life will begin at 2 PM, Sunday, September 12th, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Polo. The family will begin receiving friends one-hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery, south of Polo.

Phyllis Roberta Maidment

Phyllis Roberta Maidment, 86, of Independence, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home.

Phyllis was born on May 6, 1935 in Camden the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Duncan) Neal. She was united in marriage Jimmy Junior Maidment of Orrick on November 16, 1951; he preceded her in death on September 25, 2016.

Michael William Ford

Michael William Ford, 57, died on August 12, 2021.  Michael was born on January 3, 1964, in Turlock, California to Richard Dale Ford and Betty Gene Ford (Clancy).  Mike later moved to the Ray County area where he lived most of his childhood life and a portion of his adult life. Mike attended Crooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  After high school, Mike later moved back to Turlock, California where he met his late wife Ronette Ford (Hibdon).
