Local representatives receive award

The Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recognized State Representatives of Carroll, Livingston and Linn counties and Terry Thompson of Ray and Lafayette counties as 2024 Business Champions. This award is presented to state lawmakers who supported policies during the 2024 legislative session that boosted the economy and made Missouri a more competitive place to do business.

In the first of this two-part series, highlights showed Mary Rowland married Jesse Dotson Rowland and moved to his homestead in the Fishing River Township between Elkhorn and Orrick. They had 12 children before the Civil War began in 1861.

Council receives updates on water treatment plant

The Richmond City Council was provided with updates on the water plant rehabilitation project during a recent meeting. There are four components to the project, according to Olsson representative Nolan Groff, which included recoating the two chemical silos, filter media replacement, filter valve replacement and wastewater basin solid contacts replacement.
