Commission approves safety grants, weighs new initiatives

Ray County commissioners approved three highway safety grants last week that will fund year-round traffic enforcement and the purchase of a new patrol radio for the sheriff’s office. The action cleared two $4,000 federal contracts for impaired driving and hazardous moving enforcement and authorized a radio purchase through MoDOT’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan.
