Utility issues threat to 911 building plan; grant may be possible

RICHMOND – The continuing and controversial discussion about whether the 911 Board should construct a disaster-safe building ran into unexpected utility questions during last week’s meeting. County resident Perry Vandiver said a business – going in near the proposed 911 construction site – stopped work upon learning a water line did not reach the property.

State sues Ray County in Sunshine Law dispute

RICHMOND – After committing what may be daily Sunshine Law violations for weeks, possibly years, the Ray County Commission must face the Missouri Attorney General’s Office in court.

The state’s case against the county is narrow in scope, covering only meetings held in May.

Drive-through clinics for Ray County scheduled to take place in April, May

RICHMOND – A location is being sought to hold a vaccination clinic in Ray County during May, but those who do not want to wait can go to a clinic next week in Lafayette County. The Health Care Collaborative of Rural Missouri – in collaboration with the Ray County and Lafayette County health departments – will host a drive-through vaccination clinic in Lexington on April 17.
