Four candidates — Bobby Don Davis, James Evans, Katie Kraxberger, and Gary Wilhite — seeking the seat as Western Commissioner spoke to residents at the recent Richmond News Political Forum. Each candidate was allowed two minutes for an opening statement.

Issues with contractors discussed

Damages caused by the installation of fiber cables in rural areas were discussed during a recent Ray County Planning and Zoning Board meeting. Attending the meeting were Ray County Planning and Zoning Assistant Paula Patchett, Mike Daniel, Spectrum Construction Manager; Rob Knight, Cat 5 Director of Construction; Damon Calvert, Co-Owner of On Track Resources (OTR); and representatives from several Ray County special road districts.

$240k in grants declared through Project Guardian

Ray County Hospital and Healthcare announced $240,000 in grants to address gaps in community services as part of Project Guardian, the organization’s population health program. In June 2023, the hospital was accepted into the Transformation of Rural Community Health (ToRCH) pilot program sponsored by the Missouri Health-Net Division and began laying the foundation of the local chapter, Project Guardian.
