The 2024 Ray County 4-H Recognition Event recently took place at the Eagleton Civic Center. The reception was sponsored by the Richmond Farm Bureau, the Richmond Rotary Club, FCS Financial, and the Ray County 4-H Council.
A bill to accept $7,405.08 in grant money for police terrorism prevention equipment has been approved by the Richmond City Council. The funds were made available through Missouri Department of Public Safety’s Fiscal Year 2024 State Homeland Security Program Counter Terrorism Officer (CTO) Equipment Grant.

Missouri teachers, along with some police officers and firefighters, face reduced incomes during their retirement years due to current federal guidelines, which jeopardizes their quality of life. Due to this, Missouri State Representative Terry Thompson is advocating for federal legislation to address this issue and has assisted thousands of Missouri teachers in joining the effort.
Ray County is part of the state’s Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) Management Zone and hunters are required to take harvested deer or at least the head of any deer harvested on Nov. 16-17, 2024, to the mandatory CWD testing site at 16306 Highway 13 in Richmond.
