Local principal deems Field Day a success

FFA students plan to stay busy this summer

Body It is summer break for the R-XVI School District, but for Richmond High School (RHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA), it is a chance to get ahead. The next couple of months, the FFA students will continue working for the next 20232024 school year, said RHS FFAAdvisor Laura Allen.

Arrest made in tool theft

Body A Kansas City resident was arrested in Richmond Saturday, May 20 for theft of tools from Richmond residents. Christopher Clark, 33, was arrested by Ray County Sheriff’s Department and charged with felony first-degree burglary and felony stealing $750 or more.

Resident recommends elected officials park elsewhere

Body Handicap accessibility has been a hot topic at Ray County Commissioners meetings in weeks past. A Rayville resident went before the group once more during a recent meeting, requesting parking restrictions be enforced at the Ray County Courthouse.

Early childhood center to become reality

Body Seeing a need in the community and acting upon it is oftentimes a heavy burden. But when Dear Elementary Principal Dr. Marlaine Boyd and the R-XVI School District saw the need for an early childhood center in the Richmond community, the challenge was accepted.
