Turner clan guides Spartans in second week of camp

Varsity coach Crystal Turner’s staff looked different when Richmond kicked off its second week of volleyball camp Monday at the high school. Helping Turner drill the Spartans on the various facets of the game was Georgiana Turner, her mother. The elder Turner, who lives in southern Missouri, “came here to help me,” as did nephew Carsyn Turner, Crystal Turner said. “Since my other assistants are out of town this week, it was fantastic to have my family here to help,” Crystal Turner said. “And my mother has always been a huge part of my programs.” The Turners oversaw a morning camp session that drew raves from Crystal Turner, who’s in her second season of leading Richmond’s program. “They just moved really well and they were starting to talk,” she said. “I still have to remind them to talk, but they’re starting to move and talk better than they were last week already – just starting out this week.
