Three Spartans qualify for state in girls golf

COLUMBIA – For the second straight season, Richmond is sending three Spartans to the Class 1 state girls golf tournament. Senior Tori Bowman and juniors Kennedy Wrisinger and Zalie Gregory qualified for the two-day tournament, slated for Oct. 18-19 at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar. It is the second straight trip to state for Bowman and Wrisinger, who played in the 2020 Class 1 tournament at Smithville with Hannah Norris, a 2021 Richmond graduate. It is Gregory’s first time to qualify. Bowman, Wrisinger and Gregory punched their respective tickets Monday at the District 3 Tournament at LA Nickell Golf Course in Columbia. The top two teams and top 13 individuals not on those teams advanced, Missouri State High School Activities Association results state. Bowman shot a 109 (+39) for the 18-hole, par-70 round to tie Glasgow’s Macie Parks for eighth. Wrisinger shot a 111 (+41) to tie Salisbury’s Quinsie Millar for 11th.
