Schick leads Aggies to last-minute victory

NORBORNE – Brayden Schick did not start at quarterback for Norborne Hardin-Central when the Aggies faced Santa Fe on Sept. 18 at Norborne. But Schick finished at quarterback for NHC. He also scored the final points with 49.5 seconds left to help give NHC a 30-22 Central Rivers Conference nondivisional win. With the score 22-22, the Aggies faced fourth-and-3 at the Santa Fe 4-yard line. Rolling to his left, Schick found the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. “We’d been running right all night,” Aggies coach and Richmond High School alumnus Kirk Thacker said. “Brayden came over to me and said, ‘Coach, I can get it on the left.’ I said, ‘There’s a lot of room. I sure hope you can.’” Schick, a Hardin-Central junior, then added a two-point conversion run. He did not claim the credit for the two lastminute scores. “It was my team, it was my blockers, it was everything,” Schick said. “I mean, everything went perfectly.
