Richmond senior bids farewell to golfing career after state tourney

SMITHVILLE – Richmond senior Hannah Norris is done with golf. She announced her retirement Tuesday shortly finishing her round at the Class 1 girls state tournament, held on “The Posse” course at Paradise Point Golf Course at Smithville Lake. When asked if she had plans to continue playing golf after graduating high school, Norris emphatically replied: “No.” “Golf during high school is an enjoyable experience and I want to keep it enjoyable,” she said. Norris ranked among three Richmond high schoolers at state. Sophomore Kennedy Wrisinger was the highest Richmond finisher, shooting a 216 for the twoday tournament to place in a three-way tie with Tarkio’s Jamie Alexandra Barnett and Mount Vernon’s Kenadai Killingsworth for 38th. Wrisinger opened with a 111 (+39) for the 18-hole, par-72 round Monday. Starting on the No. 10 hole, she finished on the ninth hole.
