Richmond girls finish fourth; boys place eighth
Spartans honor seniors at Hoot Middleton meet
With Richmond hosting its final home track and field meet Tuesday, it was decided to honor the seniors in the program in mid-April, rather than near the end of the spring sports season.
And so, near the end of Tuesday’s Hoot Middleton Invitational, a Senior Night ceremony was held for the nine seniors in the program – six boys and three girls, including one manager.
“I think this is a great group of seniors,” said first-year Richmond varsity track coach David Rash, who also has worked with the seniors as an assistant football coach and/or during their weight training. “They don’t shy away from working hard. They like to train in the weight room, they like to train out on the track. Even more so, … they’re good people. And I think that says a lot – just their character. It makes it easier (to) come to work every day, being around people like that.”
