RHS grad swings the bat for MACC

Richmond graduate Sydney Appleberry found ways to get hits and score runs over the weekend. Appleberry went 4-for-12 (.333) with six RBIs over two doubleheaders for Moberly Area Community College (MACC), where she’s a sophomore. She went 4-for-7 in the Greyhounds’ first doubleheader on March 21 against visiting East Central College. In the first game, a 10-6 loss, Appleberry went 3-for-4, with a walk and a run scored. She went 1-for-3, with a walk, in the second game – a 9-3 defeat. Appleberry then went 0-for-5, but drove in five runs Sunday, when the Greyhounds were swept in a road doubleheader with Southeast Community College of Beatrice, Neb. She had the lone RBI in MACC’s 9-1 loss in five innings in the opener. Appleberry had four RBIs in the second game. Her stat line in the 17-9 loss in five innings also included a run scored, a stolen base and a fielding error.
