RHS grad co-leads New Mexico State in rout of Western Illinois
Richmond High School graduate Keyshaun Elliott helped lead New Mexico State University defensively in its 58-21 thumping of Western Illinois University.
Elliott, a sophomore linebacker, tallied seven tackles (six assisted, one solo) during the Sept. 2 home victory. He was one of two Aggies with seven tackles. J.J. Dervil, a junior safety, also was credited with seven tackles, including three solo tackles. Dylan Early, also a junior safety, was third on the team with five tackles.
With his contributions, Elliott helped the Aggies improve to 1-1 overall. The victory followed an Aug. 26 home loss to the University of Massachusetts.
Elliott and his fellow Aggies will open Conference USA play Saturday against Liberty University at Williams Stadium.
