Then, with 5.7 seconds left, Lara Hutton sank two foul shots to make it 46-43 Excelsior Springs. Next, Richmond committed a turnover, followed by an Excelsior Springs turnover. With less than a second remaining, the Spartans attempted a buzzer-beating trey, hoping to tie it and force overtime. The shot was no good. Richmond lost 46-43.
