SPREADING IT AROUND
Richmond spread around the victories in the varsity boys portion of the Bruce Finlayson Invitational.
The Richmond boys won seven events at the April 24 track and field meet at Carrollton, including two relays. Those event wins helped the Spartans take the boys team title with 105 points – 17 points more than runner-up Lafayette County of Higginsville.
Malikiah Tharp led Richmond individually, winning the boys 100- and 200-meter dashes. Brice Dome, Cale Moyer and Nathan Nichols won an event each.
Dome, a junior, won the triple jump by leaping 12.8 meters. Moyer, a sophomore, leaped 5.9 to take the long jump. Nichols, a senior, won the javelin by throwing 44.7.
Like the boys, the Richmond varsity girls won two relays. Richmond also got a win from Karoline Dooley in the discus.
Richmond placed third in the girls team standings with 85.5 points. Other point-scorers included Cheyenne Pruitt, Ensley Shane and Maya Griffin. Pruitt placed second in the 100. Shane…
