Richmond and Hardin-Central didn’t have to travel far for their latest cross country meet.
The two Ray County schools competed Wednesday at the Richmond Invitational. Richmond ran in the MRVC East championships. Hardin-Central ran in open competition. Look for additional results in the Richmond News’ Oct. 27 issue.
For both programs, the invitational followed competition last week. Hardin-Central ran Oct. 10 at the Cameron Invitational. Valerie Gabel, a first-year high schooler, placed 26th in the varsity girls race in 27 minutes, 57.9 seconds.
Preston Register and Hayden Heil took 49th and 50th, respectively, in the varsity boys race. Register, a first-year high schooler, finished in 24:44.7. Heil, a junior, finished in 24:54.2.
Richmond ran Oct. 12 at Warrensburg.
Adam Summers and Trip Copple paced Richmond in the varsity boys race. Summers, a junior, placed 25th in 19:35.5. Copple, a first-year high schooler, took 26th in 19:43.8.
