MOVING ON Some Hardin-Central athletes will make a road trip Saturday to Plattsburg. They’ll make the trip to compete in the Class 1 Sectional 4 track and field championships. They earned the trip by placing among the top four in their respective events at Class 1 District 7 competition, held May 6 at Archie, where Orrick also competed (see related story). In the boys competition, the Bulldogs qualified their 400-, 3,200- and 800-relay teams. The 400 and 3,200 relay teams placed third, and the 800 relay team finished fourth. Hardin-Central also produced an individual qualifier in three events, with J.W. Doyle qualifying in two. He placed third in both the discus and the shot put. Kalel Bowman qualified by placing second in the 200. The Hardin-Central girls also had two individuals advance – Esther Kincaid, who took second in the 300 low hurdles and fourth in the 100; and Kelsey Nolker, who placed third in the 300 hurdles.
