Rain, rain don’t go away, Aggies say

Monday’s weather didn’t force Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity coach Andrew Watson and his Aggies to change their plans as they started their latest 8-man football camp this week. With the rain falling, the Aggies trained that morning outside on one of the practice fields at Hardin-Central. Nearby, NHC’s junior high program held camp, too. “The rain’s, I think, one of my favorite things about football. … The energy’s always fun on rainy days because they want to go out and get muddy, and so, if that means I’ve got to get a little wet, I have no problem doing that,” Watson said. J.W. Doyle, the son of Hardin-Central varsity softball coach and Richmond High School graduate Brandee Doyle, was among the Aggies who enjoyed the weather. “It’s always fun to play in the mud,” he said. Kobe Gibson, who’ll be a senior this fall at Norborne, didn’t mind the weather either. “Gotta love it,” Gibson said.
