Richmond finally got to play its home opener.
Originally, the Spartans were to open their varsity baseball season March 23 at home against Chillicothe. Because of rain, however, it was called and the Spartans ended up playing their first five ballgames on the road.
The Spartans rallied to win their home opener with Lafayette County of Higginsville 8-7. Here are some images from the April 1 Missouri River Valley Conference East Division meeting, captured by sports editor Shawn Roney.
