Orrick’s O-line stampedes over Mustangs; Bearcats roll
Orrick’s offensive line has a fan in Bearcats coach Kirk Thacker.
“My offensive line is just absolutely fantastic,” Thacker said Monday by phone.
The last time the linemen wowed their coach was on Sept. 22, when Orrick rolled to a 68-22 road win over Northwest of Hughesville in varsity 8-man football action. As proof of their awe-inspiring performance, Thacker cited the stats of his top two rushers – 357 yards by Jaxon Miller and 96 yards from Zander Stevinson. Officially, Miller carried 27 times and scored six touchdowns, and Stevinson carried 16 times and scored three touchdowns.
“We could do pretty much whatever we wanted because our line has gotten so good as the year’s gone on,” Thacker said.
Making some personnel changes the past few weeks has been key to that improvement, according to Thacker, a 1987 Richmond High School graduate. Milo Nay, for example, was converted from a fullback to a guard – a position where Nay had played his first two years of high school, Thacker…
