ORRICK – The Bearcats are still figuring out their identity as a varsity boys basketball team. Coach Matt Brownsberger was reminded of that after Orrick’s 57-25 loss Dec. 4 to open the I-70 Conference Tournament, hosted this year by Orrick. “We are still trying to figure out what pieces go where,” he said. “It might take us a little while.” Against Crest Ridge, Bearcats found themselves fighting against a doubledigit deficit. The start contrasted with the previous ballgame – a 58-43 Dec. 2 home victory over Southwest of Livingston County. “We scored early, got some turnovers early … off our defense and just kind of made some things happen,” Brownsberger said.
